Clear Bell Meditation is an online mindfulness meditation practice. We are not associated with any organized religion, although we do draw quite a bit upon wisdom provided by the Buddha and by modern neuroscience. A portion of your brain (the "self") pushes you to make happen all the judgments it has made, pushing you towards some things and away from others. That is how your brain has evolved to keep you alive, protect you and your genes! If you do not succeed in doing its bidding your self motivates you by making you feel dissatisfied, most of this happening unconsciously to you. The only thing that creeps into your consciousness is a feeling of dissatisfaction that is sometimes experienced with significant anguish! Beyond making you feel uncomfortable, this ill feeling gives you a selfish view and damages relations with others. Through mindfulness meditation you can learn to see this process as it occurs, pushing back the curtain on your mental processing, so to speak. Achieving this insight frees you from the need to obey your Self's judgments reactively. When this happens, you experience personal peace and happiness and you are less combative towards and feel more compassion for others. This is not magic; it is not religion; it is almost science and has significant scientific backing. At Clear Bell we accept those with no meditation experience.
